So how do you choose YOUR perfect planner - and questions to ask

I can get straight to the point.... have a connection with your planner. If you don't immediately mesh well with a wedding planner, it's probably best to keep looking. You are trusting this person with the biggest day of your life. You should leave your consultation meeting with a feeling of satisfaction or of uncertainty and if its the latter, it's in your best interest to keep looking. I like to think of it as making new friends, because in reality, you will talk with your planner sometimes more than you will talk with your friends. So, if you feel comfortable sending a friend/follow request, you should feel comfortable with that planner being a part of your wedding.

To get to know your potential planner, you can ask some of the following questions:

*How long have you been in the business? Experience out ways everything!!!

*How many weddings have you helped plan?

*What was your most challenging wedding and what did you do to make it successful?

*What is your strategy with each bride and groom when starting to plan their wedding?

*How would you rate your organization skills?

*How would you rate your communication skills?

*Have you ever worked at our venue?

*If we consider an outdoor wedding, how do you create a weather contingency plan?

*How involved do you get...like, do you attend all vendor meetings, do you help with the design? ***This may be determined based on price package options

You can also research questions to ask, but the above are some of the most important questions to have answered.

Prior to meeting with a wedding planner, look at their website, the work they have done, read their bio. You can kind of get an idea of their personality and work based on their website and any social media that you can follow.

But, I'll say it again, make sure you mesh well with them - you'll gain another best friend!
